Oscar Weight Loss Challenge

If anyone hasn't figured out yet that we are obsessed with our cats..now you know. They are our children. We love them to death.. so they are a little spoiled. But they are just so freakin cute!!

Anyways, our baby, Oscar is a little over weight. Well ok more like 4.5 lbs over weight. The vet is not happy or amused. She gave me the biggest lecture when he was in for his one year check up. I told her we have been trying to get him to lose weight, he's just big boned. And hey lady we have a really skinny cat too so we aren't terrible people. The Evil Vet didn't care. Don't worry Oscar was a big hit in the vet's office- everyone LOVED him just not the E.V (evil vet).

After the vet visit I went straight to the organic pet food store and spent an hour finding "healthy" cat food and a food ball that is suppose to promote exercise with the reward of food. I even signed up to get discounts thinking I would be back to buy more organic pet food. Wrong.

The cats HATE the organic cat food and Oscar gained weight. The pet ball is a terror in itself. The stupid thing gets your entire house messy with scraps of cat food all over the floor. And Stella ended up playing with it, not Oscar. Fail.  UGH.

We thought maybe he would lose weight in Florida because he was running around so much. Nope. So now that he has gained even more weight, it's time to get serious.

Oscar weight loss challenge begins... This week we are switching to wet food- more protein less carbs. And I am going to try to get him to play with toys. I'll keep you posted.

The Sunshine State

As most of you know (or now you do) we are moving back to Jacksonville, Florida at the end of October. Although we eventually did want to move back south we weren't planning on moving so soon. It has been a mix of emotions- we LOVE our apartment in old town and had really started enjoying living right next to the metro but at the same time living in northern Virginia is $$$ which is always stressful. We have also made some really great friends that we have started hanging out with recently. But we are looking forward to moving back to Florida where the rent is cheap, we will get to see all of our friends from college and high school, and the BEACH! Not to mention we can DRIVE to FSU games!! Hello Sunshine State!! Goodbye rainy DC (at times I think I am living in Seattle Washington not Washington DC).

Next on our list: Danielle needs a job in Jacksonville, an apartment, oh and don't forget packing and moving......

Mr. and Mrs. Holmes

It's been one week since we became Mr. & Mrs. Holmes!! After an amazing wedding of seeing all of our family and friends, we decided we needed a way to keep in better touch with everyone. Also we are making the big move back to Florida and would like to keep our friends/family in Virginia, DC, and Maryland in the "know" about our lives as newlyweds. After 13 months of planning our perfect wedding (it was well worth 13 months of planning, stress, tears, and worries) we can now start a new chapter in our life. Sigh of relief!! Trust me I don't want to look or talk about weddings for a long time!!! Unless of course it is one of my friends weddings :)
