Humidifier

Sometime ago I posted about buying the Crane raindrop humidifier but I never posted my review so here we go.. I guess it works?! hahha From what I read I am suppose to have a snuffy nose and lots of nose bleeds. I have been using the humidifier almost every night and so far my nose has been good! Hooray! Occasionally I have been too tired to fill it up and those nights I don't sleep as well- that's not to say it wasn't something else.  I will say that you are suppose to clean EVERY week. Ugh. I have cleaned it once but it's on the list of to do's. And apparently if you don't keep it clean it can make you sick. I will be buying the baby one for his room- all the books and my mom said you need one for the baby. And I'm pretty sure I did see a really cute whale one. SOLD.

Acne. Eh. I really wish it would go away. It is getting better but way worse than my norm. Back/hip pain which stinks because all the PT exercises from my wreck require you to lay on your back which is a big NONO.
Belly Button in or out?
I think it looks bigger?! Is that even possible? I can see the inside now... I think it’s going to be an outie..yuck.
Wedding rings on or off?
On getting tighter when I get really hot..which seams to be all the time these days
Have you started to show yet?
Yes! I have noticed a few people who don’t know staring at my stomach.
Happy or Moody most of the time:
HAPPY!!! :)))
Looking forward to:
Getting baby boy’s room ready! Picking a name.
Random:
Dropped a water bottle on my toe. The next day a 2 year old dropped a chair on the same foot and then a 5 year old rolled a chair over that same foot. Dropping and running into everything.
Reading Materials:
Finished The Nurturing Touch at Birth: A Labor Support Handbook it was really overwhelming- I wouldn’t suggest it.

Nursery Planning

Now that we know it's a BOY we can start planning! At first I was thinking I have 24 weeks that's a long time right? Not exactly. Our schedules are packed until July. And my mom and I plan on making some of the baby stuff- dust ruffle, curtains, changing pad/boppy cover (still deciding) and I'm sure a few other things. Sewing takes a lot of time itself- we have to find the patterns (yes we are actually going to use patterns this time or so we say), find the fabric (never an easy task), and then start sewing. And since I can't drink wine and sew with my mom this means I am going to be much more picky about how everything turns out. We also need to register, remove furniture from baby's room, put/buy the baby furniture and decorate with limited weekend availability. Not to mention Jamie has to get his shoulder checked out.. which could lead to a couple months of him not being able to lift or move anything. And my dad just had surgery so he's out too. That leaves me and my mama. Whew I'm exhausted already.

But since I am a PLANNER by nature. I'm always shocked when people tell me they are 36 + weeks prego and haven't done the nursery.. say what?! And why would you do that to yourself? Not to mention if the baby comes early or you are put on bed rest. These are the things I think about! haha which means little baby boy will come out a month late because I will be so ready... I have been inspired by this nursery:

Like I said before we are not painting but I do have some other great ideas instead :) This weekend we found sheets at Pottery Barn- Organic and On SALE with no shipping since we found them at the store. Sweet! This is the first step for the whole sewing process so we can pick fabric we like. Here are the sheets:

We also bought this really cute outfit when we were checking out Babys R Us today:

And our really sweet friends bought us the cutest clothes!!!

And this should make you laugh:

16 weeks :)

I attempted to draw a soccer ball but... the football was way easier!

It's bigger! Still waiting for him to move off my bladder :)

How far along? 16 weeks
Total weight gain:
 4 pounds (probably more now)
Maternity clothes?
Mix of both
Stretch marks?
none that I know of!
Sleep:
Great! Oscar and Stella are now my snuggle babies at night
Best moment this week:
Seeing the baby and finding out it’s a BOY!
Miss Anything?
Running when it’s hot out and actually sweating. Sleeping on my back. Bud light limes on the beach....
Movement:
The baby loves the beach! I felt several small flutters when we laid out at the beach!
Food cravings:
Sweet tea!! Bought decaf this week and it takes the same! FRUIT. I have eaten so much fruit it’s insane.
Anything making you queasy or sick:
Lettuce, sprite, chicken, certain textures are really bothering me now- so weird. I actually had to run to the trashcan after trying to eat my BLT the lettuce did me in yuck!
Gender:
BOY!
Labor Signs:
No
Symptoms:
No more migraines! Headaches at times but I can deal with that. My ribs have been bothering me.. I have always wished for a long torso and I really do now. I’m running out of room in there! I also get really full really fast. I read that is because the uterus is pushing on my stomach. I did not listen to the books when it said eat small meals and ended up very uncomfortable after 1 fish taco (that’s never happened!!). Overall though it’s great!!
Belly Button in or out?
In but it’s def. looking stretched!
Wedding rings on or off?
On getting tighter. I’m not quite sure if it’s the heat of water retention.
Have you started to show yet?
Yes! Loose fitted clothing isn’t really working anymore.
Happy or Moody most of the time:
HAPPY!!! :))) Still emotional :) I cried when a little girl forgot her dance routine in a competition on Dance Moms....LOL The little girl didn’t even cry!
Looking forward to:
Buying baby boy stuff and planning his nursery!!! And finding a name! Everything baby related :)
Random:
Dropping everything! And baby brain! I can’t remember anything.
Workout:
I tried my yoga DVD doing two different workouts last week and I really liked it. I hate to admit that I was actually sore after them...I also ran/walked and just walked 2 days. Whoohoo I made it to 4x’s a week!
Reading Materials:
FINISHED Belly Laughs! It was cute and funny. Still reading The Nurturing Touch at Birth: A Labor Support Handbook.

It's a ..... BOY!!!!

I was really wrong with this one! I feel asleep Tuesday thinking it was a girl, we had the name picked out and everything. But when we were waiting in the waiting room the sweetest little boy was sitting near us just staring. Right then I was like hmm maybe it is a boy! The ultrasound tech gave us some really cute and sweet shots of the baby- who was drinking the amniotic fluid- as a speech pathologist this was the COOLEST thing to see. I have seen a million Modified Barium Swallow studies but never have I seen a baby in the womb drinking!! So then she goes down by the legs... and she says do you see anything? I thought I did but since I was still convinced it was a girl I kept saying no, no, no. Then she zoomed in and said there's the penis!!!! Jamie was screaming! I was just as excited! From the beginning I have always wanted a boy first so that one day our daughter can have a big brother. And since it's our first it didn't matter what it was as long as it is healthy! I am a little disappointed I don't get to buy any ribbons or bows but hopefully one day I will! And now we have to figure out a name!!!! I hate saying "baby" he needs a name! Jamie is not convinced that we need one right now... Anyways so here are a few very cute pictures!

You can see his little ribs and hands!! We were amazed by how big he has gotten in a month!

His little baby feet! I LOVE this picture!
And most important she said he looked very healthy and the umbilical cord looked good as well. AND they gave us a DVD of the whole thing :)

Happy 6 month anniversary!!!!

Saturday was our 6 month anniversary! We spent Friday night eating dinner at the beach- seafood yum! I was so excited to eat seafood and it was delicious. I am allowed to have 12oz once a week so I have saved up. It was beautiful outside! We sat outside for dinner and watched the a million and one children and babies that were out and about. Every table had at least 2 children under 2. Crazy!

Saturday we spent the whole day at the beach. It was perfect out, not too hot and just enough wind! Jamie taught me how to catch sand crabs-ekk! He was shocked that I had never done this before... um I grew up on a LAKE. hahah We found a dead blue crab which I had never seen before. And I found some awesome shells for my next creation... After the beach we (Jamie) had to get an Irish car bomb for St. Patty's day and an Irish beer. I ate. Then we headed home, checked out our sunburns and watched a movie. It was the perfect day! We can't wait to head back to the beach next weekend!

I don't have double chin just yet it just looks like it in this picture!

Toes in the sand!!!

Jamie playing in the water. You can see him if you look really close.

Home Improvement

I was waiting until we got a mirror for the wall near our kitchen table but I am having trouble finding one I like so here is our new kitchen table!!!

Here it is!! It fits 8 people with the leaf. LOVE!

I made that beautiful flower arrangement :) Eventually a mirror will go where the Eiffel tower picture is.
And I have been working on my goal of organizing every week before we get started on the baby's room. This week was organizing the laundry room.. it was awful before I couldn't even take a before picture. But here is the end result:

The baskets are organized by category: cleaning, ironing, and cat stuff. I could use two more for the laundry stuff and random stuff. I hate the ugly sign above the drier but since we are renting...it stays.
