Rocker/glider

There are a few (well probably more) things we HAVE to have before the baby shower due to how long things take to be shipped (10 weeks for crib and dresser) and I might have a heart attack if for some reason they aren't in the room two months before Jackson makes his arrival (OCD I know). My list was the crib, dresser, rocker, and mattress. And that's not to say I won't have decorations too :) We have ordered the crib and dress so next was the rocker.

Now I have been searching for a rocker/glider (I can't figure out which name goes with which type) forever! The wooden ones I have read are troublesome because the baby/toddler can pinch their fingers in the ottoman and rocker. And once you look at them closely you can see that makes sense. I decided to go with the all cloth/comfortable looking rocker/glider. Finding one with good reviews and was a reasonable price was very challenging. Not to mention shipping was $$$. But I found one at Target!! I have never seen better reviews, the price was reasonable, and the shipping was cheap!! Here it is:

I LOVE IT! It's navy and white stripped which is perfect for Jackson's room!

Happy Easter!!

Our first married Easter baskets!! Since we were on vacation last week, we were off our usual holiday game this time.. we both bought our stuff last minute ekks! I'm not too sure Jamie has ever put anything in an Easter basket because he was doing all kinds of weird stuff to mine..but he bought all my favorite candy :) Jamie always knows the way to my heart chocolate. And I'm pretty sure I did a good job with his too all sweet/sour candy! We are already making plans for Jackson's first Easter! I can't wait!!

Babymoon- Savannah

After Hilton Head we headed to Savannah to stay for three days. When we got there we took a walk around to see the sites!

Down by the river.

Dinner at Vics on the River! Yum! We somehow got the best seat in the house. Right be the window surrounded by flowers.

Jamie sitting where Forest Gump was filmed.

This house has a very tragic story and was on our haunted ghost tour.

Our hotel: The Mansion. We laid out by the pool, went to the park across the street, and got massages!

Time for the haunted ghost tour!

On the tour. This was by far our favorite part of Savannah. Our tour guide was awesome.

Our horses!

A picture I took on the ghost tour.... I think this house the guy killed his wife's lover and hide his body in the wall. They actually found a body in the wall when they renovated it..

We were very busy eating, walking, and siting seeing!

Babymoon Hilton Head

After postponing our honeymoon 2 or 3x's and finding out we were pregnant, we decided to change our plans yet again. The thought of taking 6 flights (total) and being on the beach all week pregnant didn't sound like the best idea so we decided to head to Hilton Head and Savannah. That way if I got tired or sick I wouldn't feel like I was missing out! And I am sure glad we didn't got to Antigua for a week because I would have ended up spending the whole time inside! I really hope we get to go to Antigua next year.
Lunch on the PGA golf course! It was yummy!

The back of our hotel

I seriously love this bathroom. French doors, jet tub, awesome shower head, and a make up mirror.

Getting some sun!

Before the sunset dinner cruise. The inside of our hotel. The hotel staff was the best I have ever had. Very friendly, helpful. One of the staff told the cruise crew that it was our honeymoon so the crew was treating us like celebrities the whole time! For our turn down service, not only did we get chocolates they gave us a weather report for the next day. They also had a coffee service on all of the floors. I would get me decaf and hang out on our balcony every morning.

Harbor Town! A very cute little sleepy town. Our sunset cruise was so much fun! Great food and sights. The crew bought us free drinks- mine being sweet tea- SUPER sweet tea. :) The next day we took bikes out all around Hilton Head. This is what we saw..

Alligators sunbathing.

The beach!

On our sweet bikes! We love bike riding!

Alligators swimming

Close up.

We found a horse farm!

Big dude.

Eeyore!

This is so gross but hilarious

I want one.

Shopping in Harbor Town. We got an ornament for our Christmas tree. And we got the sweat proof glasses with lids (Stella proof)- mine has the South Carolina palm tree and Jamie's is a Jaguar cup.

Lunch time! Jamie's favorite food and drinks. After our lunch a storm was headed our way so off we went to buy the baby's crib and dresser- see previous post.

Next Savannah!

18 weeks and the name is...

Jackson James Holmes
Baby Boy's name is JACKSON!!

After a lot of debating and searching we somehow just started calling him Jackson and it stuck! Jamie called the baby Jackson all week on our honeymoon so this is it! And NO his name is not JJ I hate that name!! He will be called Jackson if you must give him a nickname you can call him Jack.

How far along? 18 weeks
Total weight gain:
7 pounds total (after 5 days of pigging out on vacation I’d say that’s good!) I am suppose to start gaining a pound a week now.
Maternity clothes?
Mix of both
Stretch marks?
none that I know of!
Sleep:
Most of the time great! Sometimes really bad back pain and crazy dreams
Best moment this week:
Hearing the heartbeat again! And buying the crib!
Miss Anything?
Alcohol. Hello a vacation with no booze that was tough!
Movement:
I’m feeling more and more!
Food cravings:
Sweet tea. Fruit. Milk. Pralines from Savannah..
Anything making you queasy or sick:
Lettuce, sprite, chicken, food textures, food smells
Gender:
BOY!
Labor Signs:
No
Symptoms:
BACK PAIN! All the walking around in Savannah was not good on my back. And I’m HOT all the time. Over heating kinda of hot. And I am always cold so this is so weird.
Belly Button in or out?
In for now
Wedding rings on or off?
On getting tighter when I get really hot..which seams to be all the time these days
Have you started to show yet?
Yes! I started telling my kiddos parents at work and 3 said they had been wondering. It still looks like fat which is a bit frustrating. The doctor laughed at me when I said that. Supposably baby boy is suppose to move up to my belly button in 2 weeks, I’m hoping that helps.
Happy or Moody most of the time:
HAPPY!!! :)))
Looking forward to:
Calling the baby by his name! And the next ultrasound!

Baby Boy's Crib

After researching cribs for weeks I had picked three companies I really liked. There are tons of different features to consider and my main concerns- chemicals, where the product was made, and safety. However, none of the companies were near Jacksonville. The closest I found were Ocala (2+ hours away) or Savannah (2 hours away). So on our babymoon we went and checked out the store to see if we liked them! It happened to be storming so it was perfect timing to do some shopping. And we found one we both loved! Luckily the owner had two small children of her own and gave us tons of advice. Here it is:

It is made of solid wood from Chile (very important if you want a full explanation just ask). Assembled in Georgia. It does have the safety rating for cribs- I can't remember the name now. The head board is reversible so when you go to turn it into a full/queen there aren't any holes showing where the crib used to be. And it has two level adjustments for the bed so when baby boy starts trying to climb out we can lower it. And of course it is super heavy just like the rest of the furniture I pick out :)

We also bought a dresser that we will use as a changing table. The pictures online were the wrong color but when we get it I will take some!

Now we have to wait 10 weeks until it arrives back in Savannah where we have to go pick it up! And it apparently won't fit in an SUV. We have to rent a truck.. But any excuse to visit Savannah again is a good one. And the drive was really easy.
