12 weeks!

12 weeks the size of a plum and sonogram time :)

It's getting bigger!
How far along? 12 weeks
Total weight gain: at least 1 pound
Maternity clothes? Not wearing them yet but jeans and pants are very uncomfortable! The baby is literally right at the pants button. I went this weekend and got maternity leggings and a few shirts (after I pouted about not fitting into my skinny jeans). I did lounge around in them on Saturday (all day) .. I’m obsessed with the leggings why don’t all women wear these?
Stretch marks? none
Sleep: AMAZING! Love the body pillow. See previous post on miracle pillow. We just got the humidifier today which I can’t wait to try out. I have been waking up coughing, sore throat, and stuffy nose (obviously I work with children) so I’m hoping the humidifier will help!
Best moment this week: SONOGRAM/ULTRASOUND! We saw our baby! It is the most precious baby. The baby was a moving all around. The baby was waving and starting bouncing- the cutest thing I have EVER seen! OMG I wish we could have taped it. It’s now confirmed that we have the cutest sweetest baby ever and we are totally going to be one of “those” parents.
Miss Anything? SUSHI! DIET COKE. I’m getting a little sick of water. Coffee doesn’t tempt me so much anymore. Wine.
Movement: none that I can feel but a lot we can see.
Food cravings: Fruit, fruit, fruit. Milk products- cheese, cottage chips dipped with chips, milk, milk, milk. And now I am loving sweets. YUM. I was in the grocery store and started with a ton of fruit and ended with cupcakes and icing. I seriously considered an alternative to the cupcakes but what is that??? Nothing.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Salad, SPRITE, meat.
Gender: Prediction girl.
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: I had the worst first half of last week. I mean awful! I had to come home from work and take a two hour nap and then go back. I actually thought about calling in sick. Worst headaches of my life. And I’ve never been that exhausted. I was pretty much worthless for 4 days. Ugh. But now I am feeling so much better! Not so tired and (so far) no headaches. YAY
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: Today I’m on cloud nine!!!! But last week for the most part I was cranky because I felt like death.
Looking forward to: The second trimester and feeling better! And of course the gender prediction ultrasound and anymore heartbeats because they are so cute too.
Random: I have stubbed my toe consistently 1x a week this week 2x’s. Jamie has quit rushing out to see if I’m ok to saying “Seriously you need to wear shoes in the house.” My balance is a little off...  And now my dreams are like a lifetime movie. No joke. Image a lifetime movie and that is my dream.
How are the furry babies doing?? Oscar has now decided he too needs lots of attention.  So now we have two needy fur balls. And both of them sleeping the bed.
Workout: I managed 3x’s last week even though I felt bad- two days running and one yoga day. I’m hoping now that I feel better I can start doing 4. It gets a little hard with work but that’s the goal!

It's a healthy bouncing baby!

Our 12 week sonogram was today! The ultrasound tech said everything looked great! She said the heartbeat was right where it sound be! The baby was bouncing and waving the whole time :) And the tech says right now it looks like a girl... but keep your receipts.  More pictures to come!!!!

Miracle Pillow! My new obsession!

I wrote earlier last week about buying a body pillow even though it seemed premature since I don't really have a bump yet. But... I bought one anyways and it is AMAZING! I have actually (knock on wood) slept great for 4 nights!!!!!!! I'm in heaven. My back and hips don't hurt at all. I only wake up 1x a night. I will continue sleeping with this until we get a firm mattress (which won't happen for years I'm sure). I was a little concerned where would little Stella sleep? No worries she found her spot right on top of the body pillow purring away. Turns out Oscar loves the pillow also.

He's so cute! He LOVES our new table as well. How is Jamie doing?? Jamie mentioned the other night, "I feel like the bed as gotten smaller lately." Hmm is that because we have a human size pillow is our bed? Or because we have two cats sleeping with us- one on the pillow and fat man sleeping belly up between us? Just wait until my belly gets huge!! hahah Poor Jamie! I think he's just happy I'm sleeping better because that means I'm nicer and much more helpful :)

New Wall Art

TAt some point this week I started feeling better and worked on some lingering projects. This was a mirror that I was attempting to make a chalk board for the bump updates but I had trouble with the blackboard paint bubbling. So I re-primed it and made it wall art. And now I can change the wording on it whenever I want.

This one is a little blurry but the matte is our first dance lyrics! I loved our first dance song and the lyrics. This is such a cute way to have it on something. I bought the matte from pinterest. The key was finding a picture that fit. I should have asked her to make a different size but since I didn't I had to be a little creative. I did try to put our dancing pictures in here but they just didn't work :(  I still love it!

For now our apartment is wallpapered in wedding pictures but we have to enjoy them now since in less than 200 days I'm sure it will be baby wallpaper!

Coming up we got a new kitchen table! We spent the weekend putting it together!!!! I want to get a mirror to go on the wall by the table and then I will take a picture.

The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy

I recently saw on a blog this book The Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy as one of her top books to read due to the humor of it. At first I was not going to read the book, in fact I just received my order from Amazon of 4 books written from doctors, nurses, and researchers. Hello I went to grad school where "researched based" was discussed on a daily basis why would my baby/pregnancy/birth not be "researched based" as well? Jamie even made the comment are you sure we need 4 books (really 5 because I already have the Mayo clinic's guide)? Pshhh buddy this is just the beginning! Although I know I have a lot of knowledge of child development, speech, language, feeding and the (very basic) basics of OT and PT- I hate the parents who don't know anything! I always want to ask did you read your baby books where it should clearly state children should walk and talk around 1???? However, I have been struggling with not having anyone to talk to about the what I am going through. None of my close friends have kids yet and then everyone else had kids 26 years ago. My mom can't remember the first trimester! ( I love you mom) Everyone is sympathetic but no one is saying "oh yea I had that and this and that.. it get's better don't worry!" The advice I keep getting is don't gain too much weight.... So when none of my jeans don't fit I can't tell anyone because I'm not following the advice of not gaining too much weight. So I'm constantly worried about it to the point I almost refused to go to dinner because nothing fit right. HAHA It's funny now but it wasn't last night! Jamie's advice "Wear yoga pants." Thanks honey.

So I got the Girlfriends guide on my kindle LOVE! OMG I was hysterical I mean I was snorting I was laughing so hard. She gives her gods honest truth on what her and her girlfriends went through and woah do I feel better. I love this book. It's not researched based and it's not suppose to be but it is so nice to have a "friend's" perspective. And to know I'm not the only who ___ fill in the blank. So in between The Birth Book I take nice breaks to the Girlfriends Guide.

In the Epilogue she states this is the book for the women who gain 20 pounds from the first positive pregnancy test to their first doctor's appointment. Hahah who doesn't think that's funny.

*Don't read the reviews on this book because people are taking it WAY too seriously. Hello it's suppose to be a fun read not serious. The author even says that several times in the book.

Week 11

The baby is now the size of a lime! And that says no margaritas for 200+ days!

Some super cute baby gifts we have received :) We still haven't bought anything yet!

How far along? 11 weeks
Total weight gain: at least 1 pound
Maternity clothes? No size 2’s no longer fit! I don’t even attempt them anymore. 6’s are still too big but 4’s are getting tight. I’m considering by the bellyband or getting one pair of go with me pants (maternity pants) for work.
Stretch marks? none
Sleep: I have a couple good nights and then a couple bad nights. My goal this weekend is to get a humidifier and a body pillow.  I know it’s early but my hips are already bothering me (I blame my accident on that one).
Best moment this week: HEARING THE HEARTBEAT!!!!! :) And telling almost everyone!!
Miss Anything? SUSHI! I was drooling in Publix over the sushi! Diet coke, coffee, chocolate. I don’t crave chocolate but when I eat it ugh I feel awful afterwards. I used to LOVE chocolate!
Movement: none
Food cravings: CHIPS. Milk. Fruit. Surprisingly red meat or just meat in general (except chicken) loving turkey burgers these days. Still loving carbs!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Salad, SPRITE, chocolate, headaches
Gender: Prediction girl.
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: The headaches have gotten better but they aren’t gone. Still feeling nauseous from time to time. TIRED this is getting to me. If I am somewhat productive I need a two or more hour nap and 10 hours of sleep that night. I seriously had to talk myself out of a nap at work... I was thinking how bad would it look if I laid in the corner of my office and took a quick nap?
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: Mostly happy! Still occasionally moody but usually when I’m feeling sick or have a headache. Poor Jamie :( He has no clue how to make me feel better.. do you need anything no? Ok and off he goes. He’s been a good sport for the most part! And I know it can’t be easy!
Looking forward to: Sonogram next Wednesday!! One week!
How are the furry babies doing?? Stella are sassy cat has done a 180! Wow! She is snuggling with me ALL the time. She sleeps with me all night. She curls up in a little ball right by my side but if I get up to go to the bathroom she sleeps on my pillow! She has to sit by me wherever I go- my protector! And now she’s sucking up to Jamie- snuggling with him on the couch. She can’t figure out what’s going on so she’s loving everyone! Oscar not so much. He has no clue anything is different ahhaha he’s not the smartest cat but we love him.

Surprise we are having a baby!!

Yep that's right we are pregnant! This has been the hardest secret to keep!! But the doctor gave us the clear to spill the beans on Friday :) Now we aren't announcing it on facebook quite yet so shhhhh.

We found out on December 27th and it was a big surprise!! I had a feeling all month that we might be expecting but the pregnancy tests kept coming back negative until the 27th. Lucky for us some of our family was still in town for the holidays so we got to tell some of them. There was so foreshadowing or signs if you will..... I ordered my parents a wedding album and was mailed a baby album instead two days before Christmas. I was furious at the time but it came in handy for telling them we were pregnant! My old OBGYN that I haven't seen in three or four years called to tell me I needed to schedule an appointment.. She was right! We couldn't be more excited to be adding to our family!

Estimated arrival date: September 5, 2012!

I have been taking pictures along the way and writing updates each week. Here are the pictures.

4 weeks- right after Christmas so I have a couple extra pounds on there but I wanted to show what my abs started out like.

6 and half weeks how my stomach got flatter I'm not quite sure considering I've been laying on the couch as much as I can.

Our chalk board!

How far along? 8 weeks
Total weight gain: not sure
Maternity clothes? No. I am wearing loss fitted clothing as much as possible
Stretch marks? none
Sleep: For the most part great! Some nights I’m so exhausted I can’t sleep it’s weird.
Best moment this week: getting closer to the 2nd trimester
Miss Anything? Caffeine, sushi, soft cheese (brie, blue cheese, feta), wine
Movement: none
Food cravings: Yesterday was SALT. I ate salt and vinegar chips (at 9am) and I was seriously considering adding more salt to them... then I ate 10 pickles. I still wanted more salt. But for the most part I crave waffles. I could eat them for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I’m also obsessed with water. I feel like everyone hour I ran a marathon that’s how thirsty I am.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Eww a lot of things. I hate lunch. Meat. Mostly anything healthy makes me want to throw up.
Gender: Prediction girl.
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Tired, nausea from the time I wake up until around 3pm, dull headaches ALL day long, irritable (most likely due to the headaches- I am not a good sport when it comes to headaches), and just feeling off. It’s like constantly having a hangover- you want to lay on the couch all day, you can’t get enough water, and you can only eat certain items without puking. But the catch is it’s everyday and there was no drinking involved. Working out has pretty much become nonexistent- the bouncing moving motion makes the nausea so much worse and then I end up more tired and feeling awful the rest of the day. I’m attempting to do some yoga...
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy, moody, nervous, all emotions right now. My advice to myself is the quit watching “The baby story” on TLC. I was crying out of pure fear. I’m still hoping the stork will appear with the baby...
Looking forward to: hearing the heartbeat and the ultrasound! Three more weeks!

 How far along? 9 weeks
Total weight gain: 2 pounds
Maternity clothes? No. I am wearing loss fitted clothing as much as possible
Stretch marks? none
Sleep: Every other night I sleep great! Again, I’m sometimes too tired to sleep.
Best moment this week: getting closer to the 2nd trimester
Miss Anything? SUSHI! Coffee, champagne, wine....
Movement: none
Food cravings: Italian food. Loving noodles, bread, carbs, carbs, carbs. I’m also really obsessed with milk and sour cream. I was actually just dipping pretzels in sour cream... Still loving pickles. I HAD to have a turkey and cheese sandwich the other day (don’t worry I heated that organic lunch meat up until it was over steamy hot) and I usually hate sandwiches. I read online (which may or may not be true) that what you crave is your body’s way of telling you need more of it. I wonder if powdered sugar donuts was on that list... Obviously these cravings are not helping that whole weight gain thing.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Salad-gross. Granola bars- I literally had to put a piece in my mouth and wash it down with water while gagging the whole time- beautiful I know.
Gender: Prediction girl. Or twins don’t ask why but it’s a weird feeling I’ve been having. I am really hoping I’m wrong
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Headaches everyday all day. Still tired. Not as nauseas anymore which is great but I still have food aversions/cravings. Hungry!!! I have to eat every 2 hours or my symptoms go crazy- headaches, nausea, dizziness.
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: Excited! Happy! Emotional- I almost cry to love songs on the radio ahahha. Still crying during movies, especially about babies. Less moody and more myself- I still have my moments though. The headaches have started making me nonverbal so that helps with the moodiness.
Looking forward to: hearing the heartbeat and the ultrasound! Two more weeks!
Random: I haven’t had any really crazy dreams lately but here were the two best: I dreamt that I was the “girl” in a rap video. Was I tan? No. Skinner? No. I was pale pale white (think vampire) with a dark red swimsuit on and had gained probably ten pounds! AWESOME! HAHAH The second one Tim Teebo knocked up my friend and left her at the hospital to raise the baby by herself. Did I mention I hate Tim Teebo? He was very Christian in my dream....

How far along? 10 weeks
Total weight gain: 1 pound says the doctor- I'm going with his scale!
Maternity clothes? No. I am wearing loss fitted clothing as much as possible
Stretch marks? none
Sleep: I’m so tired I can’t sleep it’s only getting worse!
Best moment this week: getting our appointment changed to hear the heartbeat!!!!!!!!
Miss Anything? SUSHI! Coffee, hot dogs (I don’t even usually eat hot dogs but I want one), wine
Movement: none
Food cravings: Fruit, veggies dipped in ranch, still loving dairy- milk, sour cream, cottage cheese, carbs! Jamie bought hot wing chips... I have eaten the whole bag in two maybe three days :( yikes! They are so good! SALT love salt. Chips especially.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Salad, lunch meat, sprite. Bodily fluids- they have never made me queasy before but now oh my goodness! I had to take a little kid to the bathroom the other day I was gagging the whole time. Then I had a kiddo spit up (he’s 2) and I about lost it. Not to mention 13 year old boys making disgusting slurping burping AHHHH.
Gender: Prediction girl. I still would prefer a boy first since I have a big brother but girl stuff is so much cuter than boy stuff!
Labor Signs: No
Symptoms: Holy headaches. I was down for four days with awful headaches. I would go to work and then come home and lay on the couch even on Friday night :( Tylenol which I am trying NOT to take doesn’t work anyways. Now I am super tired. I spend all day tired and then all night not sleeping well and then the cycle continues.
Belly Button in or out? in
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: Both! Yesterday, my kiddos at work were driving me crazy which is really unusual. I’m still really emotional when watching movies. I don’t just tear up I cry for a good five minutes ahhaha. I’m pretty much like a teenager again- emotional, moody, acne, hungry, tired.. and I hated being a teenager! It will all be worth it though. I am happy/nervous to hear the heart beat! I hope everything goes well!
Looking forward to: hearing the heartbeat on two more days!
Random: I had a dream that my friend (who doesn’t know if she wants children or not) was pregnant with 8 babies! Her husband was super excited! hahaha. I also saw on someone’s blog that they took a picture of the wife sitting by the toilet to show her morning sickness...are you kidding me? Weirdo. Who does that?

10 week appointment was AMAZING! Turns out I only gained 1 pound- I should only gain between 2-5 in the first 12 weeks (the Mayo Clinic says only 2) and I still have 2 (or three depending on who you talk to) weeks so one pound is great.  And we heard the heartbeat!! We were really nervous (we had heard a horror story 1 day before our appointment that did not help). The doctor was really laid back and told us it takes a minute to find it and the baby may be a little stubborn at first. So after what seemed like forever we heard the swishing sound of the heartbeat :) (tear).  And he said chances of miscarriage are very very small at this point whew! We go for a sonogram in a week and a half so we can actually see the baby!! I can't wait!

DIY/ Pinterest Project

I am obsessed with pinterest! I find the best ideas.. too many to keep up with. This week I made a mason jar soap dispenser. Who doesn't love mason jars? They are so cute! And I have several due to my grandmother's amazing canning skills- salsa and peaches (in separate cans of course)! Yum! I need to learn how to can next. So I decided to make this one myself- online it said you can poke the whole with a screw driver... completely wrong. I did manage to get a big enough hole to make one. But next time I have having my dad drill the hole- it will be so much easier. Here are the results

The best part is this project was free!! It looks great in the bathroom- I should have taken a picture in there... And I think it looks a lot better than most soap dispensers.

Superbowl! Go Giants!

Superbowl snuck up on me this year! Usually I really enjoy making lots of tailgating food- even if it is just me and Jamie. But this year I went out of town the weekend before and spent the whole week playing catch up with cleaning, working, etc. So when Jamie had a friend over to watch the Jamie (and have pizza)   I decided to make two new recipes for the occasion. Here are the results:

Football deviled eggs! These were actually very good! My first time making deviled eggs and I will def. make them again.

Veggie dip. This one looks good but didn't turn out well. But using a pepper as the dip holder was a great idea!

Next year I hope to do better!!

Congrats Jamie!!

Jamie was the TOP producer at his office last month!!! That is amazing considering it's on his second month selling loans!! I am very proud :)
